Jonathan F. Kugel – Cabinet de Curiosités Contemporain

For its third consecutive participation in PAN Amsterdam, Jonathan F. Kugel – Cabinet de Curiosités Contemporain presents an eclectic selection of works by Joël Person, Alan Macdonald, Onno Theelen, Nathalie Latour, Ming Miao Ko, Benoît Polvêche, Tin Ayala, Rose Mihman, Noémie Courronné, Rui Barros and Satoko Takeushi, alongside other contemporary artists.

Conceived in the spirit of a cabinet of curiosities, the presentation brings together painting, drawing, sculpture, ceramics and singular objects in an unexpected dialogue between artistic practices, materials and sensibilities.

Combining established artists from the gallery's programme with exciting new discoveries, the selection reflects a shared fascination with craftsmanship, virtuosity, imagination and the unexpected.

Moving freely between beauty and strangeness, humour and melancholy, the familiar and the uncanny, the presentation reflects the gallery's belief that the qualities that make an object compelling transcend periods, styles and classifications.

Rather than following a single artistic movement or aesthetic, the Cabinet invites visitors to explore unexpected connections between works, each selected for its ability to intrigue, surprise and provoke emotion.
